Kokomo Jackrabbits Baseball
The Kokomo Jackrabbits are a collegiate summer league team and a member of the summer collegiate Prospect League. The Jackrabbits play at the 4,000-seat Kokomo Municipal Stadium in downtown Kokomo, Indiana. Our commercial division was challenged with creating a modern play structure based on America’s pastime. The result was pretty spectacular!
Working with Travis from Commercial Recreation Group was a great experience. From the design phase to the installation, he was there helping us through every inch of the way. Even though we had a very tight schedule, he was also able to meet our completion date.

Look closely at the play structure, and you’ll see steel baseball cap roofs on each tower. The baseball-themed structure provides the perfect backdrop to the stadium. This hybrid structure features 6 slides, a burma bridge, vertical rock climber, tic-tac-tow panel, lily-pad step-up, and many climbing devices. Next to the main structure also sits a tri-pad jungle traverse with climbing elements. This structure is rated for children in the 5-12 year age range.
This project incorporated blue rubber mulch safety surfacing, which cushions falls and minimizes dangerous playground impacts. It’s high quality surfacing that protects and lasts through years of use. It has a light, springy feel when stepped on and eliminates the need for annual mulching, since rubber doesn’t break down as wood does. The blue provides a nice visual color to catch your eye and match the play structure. The surfacing is contained with functional border timbers that help keep the rubber mulch in place during heavy traffic. They also provide a nice border for the play area.
